The Academic and Career Plan Portfolio (ACPP) and the Academic and Career Plan (ACP) work together to help you plan and keep track of your academic and career journey. Think of the ACPP as your backpack and the ACP as your roadmap. Here’s how they work together:
The Backpack (ACPP)
- Starting Early: In elementary school, you start filling your backpack with information about your experiences, interests, skills, and achievements. These can be things you learn in class, projects you work on, or activities you enjoy.
- Growing Collection: As you move through school, you keep adding more items to your backpack, like advanced projects, reflections, and extracurricular activities.
Developing the Roadmap (ACP)
- Middle School Transition: When you get to middle school, you use the things in your backpack to start creating your roadmap. This roadmap (ACP) helps you plan your future based on what you’ve learned about yourself so far.
- High School Planning: The roadmap will guide you on which courses to take and what activities to join, helping you reach your future goals.
Evolving Backpack and Roadmap
- Adding More Items: As you continue through middle and high school, both your backpack and roadmap evolve. You’ll add more complex projects and experiences to your backpack.
- Refining the Plan: Your roadmap will change too, adjusting to your new interests and goals based on the items you add to your backpack.
Guiding and Reflecting
- Ongoing Updates: The things you add to your backpack will help you refine your roadmap, making sure it always aligns with your evolving interests and goals.
- Making Adjustments: Your roadmap will be updated regularly based on your reflections and achievements.
Preparing for the Destination
- Reaching the Goal: By the end of high school, your backpack will be full of valuable experiences and achievements. Your roadmap, informed by the contents of your backpack, will guide you to your next step—whether it’s college, vocational training, the military, or entering the workforce.
